New Realtionships

What qualifies as pursuit as opposed to chase?  I pose this question to you because I have long been absent from the dating scene and someone has caught my attention.  My concern is that I may put forth too much effort while the object of my affection has little motivation to do the same.  If I work so hard, why should he?  Is chivalry still present and accounted for, or absent and misguided?  The game of "cat and mouse" between men and women has been going on for centuries. Women painting their faces and strapping themselves into corsets to garner the attention of a certain man.  Men lifting weights and spending cash to impress the apple of their eyes.

Where do we draw the line?  For now, I plan to ease into the new dating scene of tweeting, texting and waiting.  Let's just hope that it does not take me to long to catch up in the game.  Wish me luck...

It's Me...

Well, here I am, on the cusp of my "BIG thing."  I have always dreamed big and driven myself to be the best at what I chose to do.  My only problem has been that most of what I wanted to do was put aside to pursue what was safe and secure.  I have not really been one to walk by faith, instead I chose sight and reality.  Lately, as I get older, my goals seem to be distant dreams that are less attainable and that strikes a chord of fear and pain that resonates in my core.  Recent health scares with my closest loved ones finally set me back on track to my truest reality...Create the future I want by living the life I deserve!  If there is one certainty that holds true for each of us it's that tomorrow is not promised and we should take charge of our destiny and pursue our greatest selves.  This blog is an extension of me so prepare yourselves for the bumpy ride ahead.  I am a thirty-something southern belle who loves fashion, craves fine food and lives for new experiences.  Travel and reading are passions only surpassed by my fervent need to shop and acquire beautiful things.  I am a self-proclaimed online shopping wizard who can search out the hautest new items and find a discount code/promotion to save extra money.  I adore labels...I am a cliche in that sense...but they make me smile.  There are few greater feelings than purchasing that new Louis bag (that you saved so long for) or those new sky high YSL Tribute platforms (that you have dreamed about for months).  When you are a true haute girl with a thirst for fashion you understand what it is to own the most coveted pieces of the season and wear them with pride.  So here's the deal:  If you want to search out life's greatest lessons while striving to inspire others daily...follow me...TheHauteDoll :)
